This is wild. We’re just three weeks out from our “maiden voyage” in The HaRV. Well, okay, that’s not quite true.. we took it out for 2 nights locally on a test run but nobody’s counting that.

This has been an adventure that’s been YEARS in the making. To be honest, just 10 months ago it didn’t even seem like a realistic dream. I was still working a proverbial “9 to 5”, although it was more like an anytime between “7 and 11”. I’m a proud papa right now and especially proud of Amy for all of the hard work that she’s done to move us towards this goal.

In 9 months…

• I FINALLY QUIT my job. It felt like such a risk at the time.
• I got a new job that let me work remotely AND WE LOVE IT.
• Amy WORKED HER TAIL OFF to make homeschool a reality.
• We made the BRAVE COMMITMENT to homeschool & pulled N from public school.
• We spent countless HOURS researching how to work on the road.
• We researched how to best travel with children.
• We LEARNED how to maintain & repair our rig.
• We RESEARCHED insurance, storage, and all of the other necessities.
• We hunted down and purchased a travel trailer.
• We performed repairs to get it road ready.
• We did a local test run.
• We PLANNED & BOOKED our first destinations.

That’s a lot of change and we’re just getting started!

What’s next? 

We’ll be heading out soon and we’ll be sure to share any updates along the way, including all of our challenges & learns. You won’t find a lot of fluff here, we’ll tell it as it is — good, bad or ugly.
